According to the spiritual accounts of the Sanhedrin Trial of Jesus, the crucifixion of Jesus probably took place on a Friday. The estimated year of Good Friday according to two different classes is AD 33, while Isaac Newton calculated the year as originally AD 34, based on the difference between the biblical and Julian calendars and the size of the moon.

Date Count

Good Friday is the Friday before Easter, which is counted differently in Eastern Christianity and Western Christianity. (See Computus in detail) Easter falls on the first Sunday after the Pascal Full Moon, a full Moon that occurs on or after March 21. Western calculations use the Georgian calendar, Whereas the eastern count is of the Julian calendar, whose 21st March corresponds to the 3rd April of the Georgian calendar. There are also different methods of determining the date of a full moon.

In Eastern Christianity, Easter may fall between March 20 and April 25 according to the Julian calendar (thus between April 4 and May 8 in the Georgian calendar; during the period 1900 and 2099), hence Good Friday from March 20 to April 23. May be between, Combined: (between April 2 and May 6 according to the Georgian calendar)

Roman Catholic Church

The Roman Catholic Church observes Good Friday as a fasting day, while the Latin rites of the Church refer to one full meal (although it is less than the regular meal and often consists of fish instead of meat) and two morsels (one A snack, even twice the amount of which does not equal a complete meal) is taken. In countries where Good Friday is not a holiday, business is usually closed for a few hours after 3 p.m.

Reformation for Jesus Christ

The Roman Catholic tradition includes special prayers, dedications in the form of reformation for the tortures and humiliations that Jesus endured, as Jesus suffered during his Passion on Good Friday. or does not include a petition for the deceased beneficiary, But it is done for the purpose of atonement for the sins committed against Jesus. The Racolta Catholic Prayer Book (approved by edict of 1854 and published by the Holy See in 1898) includes such prayers as prayers to the Virgin Mary as reformation.

Matins of Holy and Great Friday

Today He who hung the earth upon the waters is hung upon the Cross (three times).

He who is King of the angels is arrayed in a crown of thorns.

He who wraps the Heavens in clouds is wrapped in the purple of mockery.

He who in Jordan set Adam free receives blows upon His face.

The Bridegroom of the Church is transfixed with nails.

The Son of the Virgin is pierced with a spear.

We venerate Thy Passion, O Christ (three times).

Show us also Thy glorious Resurrection.

He took our guilt and blame upon Himself

So we could be with Him in paradise.
