The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a warning to the students regarding admission in Periyar University in Tamil Nadu. The UGC, in a warning advisory, said that the commission does not recognize distance learning (ODL) courses to be conducted by Periyar University. Therefore, students should be careful about the admission in the Distance Learning (ODL) courses of this university.
UGC Secretary Rajnish Jain said that as per the
recommendations of the Grievance Redressal Committee (CRC), the commission has
decided that no application from the higher education institution will be
entertained for the years 2022-23 and 2023-24. The complaints and notices of
violations received will be sent to the Governor and the Secretary to the State
Government for fact-finding and necessary action in the matter.
