Marvel
certainly didn't hold back with announcements at this year's San Diego
Comic-Con — we found out when Phase 4 is coming to an end, what's to come in
Phase 5, and even two of the brands' Also an indication of what we can expect
in Phase 6 - New Avengers movies. However, one film that did not get mentioned
was Deadpool 3. Marvel boss Kevin Feige has high hopes for the threequel,
though.
"How
can we scale it up the way we've been able to with Civil War and Infinity War
and Ragnarok?" Feige told The Hollywood Reporter (opens in new tab) at
SDCC, referring to the no-holds-barred third installments of the Captain
America, Avengers and Thor series. "It's so much fun being in the world of
The Ryan Reynolds Show."
After
Disney merged with Fox and Deadpool, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four took
control of Marvel Studios, Deadpool 3 will mark the merch with the debut of
Mouth in the MCU. The film will also be the first R-rated film in the history
of the franchise.
Reynolds
first played Wade Wilson in 2016's Deadpool and the 2018 sequel Deadpool 2. The
third film will be helmed by Reynolds collaborator Sean Levy—who previously
directed the actor in Free Guy and The Adam Project—and returning screenwriters
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernicke for a third round.
Next up for
the MCU is She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, which premieres August 17 on Disney Plus.
In the meantime, make sure you're up to date with the MCU with our guide to
