Sri Venkateswara University Ph.D. Entrance Test
Admission to all courses is through SVU Common Entrance Test (SVUCET) and Merit cum Viva-Voce.
- The SVUCET schedule has been notified in the admission notification. However, in some courses the admission will be on the basis of merit. Apart from SVUCET, Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) will also be conducted for admission to MBA course. Other national level entrance exams like AIEEE, CAT, MAT, XAT, GATE, GPAT, etc. will also be considered for admission purpose.
- Admission to all Masters courses will be given on the basis of the academic record of the candidate.
- Admission to PhD courses will be made on the basis of academic record, entrance test and personnel interview.
- Candidates must have a Master's degree in the relevant subject with minimum 55% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST and Physically handicapped) in order to fulfill the eligibility criteria for admission to Ph.D. Program.
- SVUCET will be followed by Personal Interview/ Personal Discussion (Pre RDC). National Scholarship holders / NET qualifiers are exempted from the entrance test.
Sri Venkateswara University Ph.D. Scholarship
The university offers scholarships to deserving and meritorious students enrolling for undergraduate programs. The eligibility criteria for the scholarship are as follows:-
SVU Scholarship
- 75% tuition fee waiver for students securing 90% or more marks in 10+2. The same criterion applies for subsequent examinations on an annual basis.
Meritorious Student Scholarship
- 25% concession in tuition fee for students securing 85% and above in 10+2. A chair will be set up in each faculty. The topper of each faculty is reimbursed the tuition fee for the whole 1 year by the respective chairperson. The first such chair has been established in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology in the name of Shri Shiv Kumar Giri, father of Honorable Chancellor Dr. Sudhir Giri.
Extra-Curricular Excellence Scholarship
- One student for each faculty selected for excellence in extra-curricular activities like sports, oratory, presentation, cultural activity etc., will be 50% of the tuition fee.
