Taapsee Pannu is one of the most talented and promising actresses in the industry. After Rashami Rocket, Soorma and Saand Ki Aankh, Taapsee Pannu is back to bring another sports story to the big screen. This time around, the actress is playing the character of Indian cricketer Mithali Raj and bringing her story to life. The actress will play the lead role in the film 'Shabash Mithu'. And, ahead of its release, Taapsee and Mithali are leaving no stone unturned to promote the film.
Talking about which, a while back, Taapsee was seen in the city as she stepped out to promote the biopic. Mithali Raj was also seen with him. For the promotional event, the actress donned an abstract print co-ord set, which she paired with a green top. Mithali, on the other hand, opted for a neutral-toned outfit. The two looked extremely stylish as they posed for the cameras.
For the unaware, Mithali Raj, who is known for her record-breaking 23-year-long career in international cricket, scored over 10,000 runs in ODIs. The film follows his journey to become a great cricketer and an inspiration to billions of girls and women across the world. The film is a tribute to the recently retired icon.
Talking about 'Shabash Mithu', the trailer has already been released and fans have already appreciated Taapsee as Mithali. Announcing the trailer on social media, Taapsee wrote, "You know the name Mithali Raj, now get ready to see the story behind what made her a legend. The woman who redefined "The Gentleman's Game" done, she created the hairstory and I'm honored to bring it up to you.
Directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Viacom18 Studios, Shabaash Mithu will hit theatres on 15 July 2022.
