Ryan Gosling says he's ready to franchise his next Netflix film, The Gray Man. The Gray Man, based on the novel series of the same name by Mark Graney, stars Ryan Gosling and is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.

After uncovering secret agency secrets, former CIA officer Court Gentry, aka Sierra Six, finds himself on the run from his psychic former colleague Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans) and a group of assassins. While there's still a lot of mystery surrounding the impending action flick, Netflix's 2022 movie preview trailer offers a first look at the much-anticipated production. At the top of a rolling streetcar, Gosling fights off the killers, and fans get a first look at Chris Evans' mustache rival. The supporting cast of Gray Man, which includes Ana de Armas as Dani Miranda and reggae-jean Page as Carmichael, were recently revealed in promotional photos.

However, in a recent interview with Empire, Gosling discussed how much he loved making The Gray Man and how he wanted the film to be a Netflix franchise. The actor says he will be up for a sequel to explore more of his character in the future, and jokes that he wants to see Sierra Six "up to the status of a name at some point". According to ScreenRant, Ryan said, "I loved making this movie. I'd love to do it again. I hope we can get Six in a name position at some point, just for my own sanity."

Despite the fact that moviegoers haven't seen the trailer for The Gray Man yet, it's clear that Gosling is hoping for a sequel. The Gray Man is one of Netflix's most standout original films to date, with a budget of US$200 million (linked with Red Notice), indicating that the streaming service is betting on the film's success.
