NIILM University is a private university in Kaithal, Haryana. NIILM University was initially proposed to be established by the NIILM Education Trust at Palwal in June 2009, but the location was changed to Kaithal on 4 January 2010 in a submission to the government. The university was established in 2011 through Haryana Private Universities Act, 2011.

NIILM University PhD Admission Process
The duration of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) shall be minimum
three years and maximum six years including course work. Exceeding the above
limit will be governed by the respective sections prescribed in the
statute/Ordinance of the respective individual institution proposed by NIILM

NIILM University PhD Eligibility Criteria
- Master's degree holders fulfilling the criteria prescribed
under clause 2 above.
- Candidates who have completed M.Phil. Course work with at
least 55% marks in the UGC 7-point scale or its equivalent grade of 'B' (or an
equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and
successful M.Phil. degree will be eligible to proceed to undertake research
work for the PhD degree in an integrated program at the same institution. 5%
relaxation in marks, from 55% to 50%, or Relaxation equivalent to grade may be
allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Differential
and other categories as decided by the Commission from time to time.
- A person who’s M.Phil. The dissertation has been evaluated
and pending oral examination, Ph.D. can be granted admission. Program of the
same institution.
- Candidates having degree are considered equivalent to
M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution from a foreign educational institution
recognized by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency, approved, recognized or
authorized by an authority, Established or incorporated under a law in his
country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of
assessing, accrediting or assuring the quality and standards of educational
institutions, shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D. Program.
