Northcap University (NCU), formerly ITM University, is a private university located in Sector 23-A, Gurgaon, Haryana, India. It was established in 1996 by the Educate India Society, registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, as an engineering institute for imparting education in technical and management. Earlier it was under Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak.

The NorthCap University PhD Admission Criteria

• Northcap University offers full-time and part-time PhD programs in 23 specializations, with a minimum duration of 3 years to a maximum of 6 years. Admission to the PhD program takes place twice a year in June-July and in November and December. Northcap University is currently accepting the last date for submission of application form for PhD program.
• Admission to PhD programs is done on the basis of NPET/GATE/JRF/SLET and UGC-NET with minimum 50% and qualifying degree 30%. The final list of selection is approved by the Dean and President of the University. The university accepts applications in both offline and online mode.

• M Tech (Engineering) degree with minimum 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent (with NCU, NPET) or B Tech. A Premier University or Institution within 100 NIRF ranking for the year of consideration with CGPA 8.5 or equivalent (with NCU, NPET) and GATE/UGC/CSIR score for Government Financial Assistant (NCU, NPET) and degree free institutions ( IIT / NIT) )

Duration (Years)         

• Full Time: 3 to 7/8 Years
• Part Time: 4 to 7/8 Years

Eligibility Criteria

• A candidate who holds a Ph.D. wants to enter. program under the School of Management (SOM) of NCU, must possess a master's degree in any branch of engineering, management, economics, commerce, operations research or other relevant subjects, subject to the approval of the School of Management. 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent.

Eligibility Criteria

• A candidate who holds a Ph.D. wants to enter. Program under School of Law (SOL) of NCU: Master's degree in Law from a recognized University with at least 55% marks or its equivalent
• Master's degree in any discipline from a recognized University with at least 55% marks or its equivalent; Provided that candidates with qualifications in the social sciences, humanities and sciences may be admitted to the program if they wish to conduct research in a discipline of law with a special focus on public policy or law.
• Judge of High Court of any State in India or Judge of Supreme Court of India with three years’ experience
