Skoda (Skoda) launched the 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift (2022
Skoda Kodiaq Facelift) SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 34.99 lakh,
ex-showroom. The new Skoda Kodiaq Facelift has been launched in three trims,
which include Style, SportLine (Sportline) and Laurin & Clement (Laurin and
Clement) variants. The ex-showroom price of the Kodiaq facelift SUV goes up to
Rs 37.49 lakh. Bookings for this premium SUV have also started, whose
deliveries are going to start in the coming days.
Skoda Changes
Introduced in the global markets last year, the new 2022
Skoda Kodiaq comes with several updates including exteriors, interior designing
and engine which has now been upgraded to a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre TSI petrol
engine.
Competition
Skoda Kodiaq was first introduced globally and in the
country in 2017. After being discontinued in April last year due to BS-VI
norms, the SUV has made a comeback in the Indian market. The 2022 Skoda Kodiaq
will compete with cars like Volkswagen Tiguan (Volkswagen Tiguan), Hyundai
Tucson (Hyundai Tucson) and Citroen C5 Aircross (Citroen C5 Aircross).

Exterior Features
The new Kodiaq has a hexagonal grille with chrome finish.
Minor design changes have also been made to the body-coloured bumper and its
front grille. The SUV will sport crystalline LED headlights that will give
better illumination to the user. Attractive turn indicators are available at
the rear of the car, in which the lettering is prominently visible. With new
dual-tone alloy wheels and functional roof rails in silver colour, the new
Kodiaq looks quite sporty.
Cabin and Interior Features
The new Kodiaq facelift SUV will come with dual-tone
interiors with black and beige themes. The two-spoke steering wheel has been
introduced with a minimalist design which further enhances the look of the
dashboard and interior. It has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with
inbuilt navigation and wireless connectivity. With a 10.25-inch digital
instrument cluster, 3-zone automatic climate control system and 12-speaker Canton
sound system in the doors, the Kodiaq SUV is set to attract a sizable number of
buyers Those who are thinking of owning an SUV. Talking about other features of
the SUV, it gets ventilated front seats with cooling and heating functionality,
ambient lighting and electrically operated panoramic sunroof among other
updated features.
Engine and Power
One of the biggest changes in the Kodiaq facelift SUV is its
engine. To power the SUV, Skoda has fitted a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, the
same engine that is used in other Skoda models like the Superb and Octavia
sedan. This engine comes mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. It can
generate maximum output of 190 PS and maximum torque of 320 Nm. Skoda claims
that the new Kodiaq can accelerate to 100 kmph in just 7.8 seconds.
5 Driving Modes
The company has informed that the new 2022 Kodiaq SUV will
have Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) system. It will adjust the shock absorber of
the car to suit the damping characteristics. One can make these adjustments
based on the driving mode chosen by him/her. The car will come with five drive
modes which include Eco, Normal, Sports, Snow and Individual.
Safety Features
The Kodiaq SUV gets nine airbags along with safety assist
features like ESC, MCB, AFS, ABS and ASR. Hill descent control and 360-degree
camera are standard on the top-spec L&K trim.
Storage Space
The Skoda Kodiaq facelift SUV gets a bright and cooled
glovebox at the front. It also gets a boot space of 270 liters with all the
seven seats. The boot space can be increased to 630 liters by folding the third
row seats and by folding the rear two rows the luggage space can be increased
to 2005 liters.
