BJP leader and actress Sonali Phogat died of a heart attack in Goa on Monday night, police officials said. The 41-year-old leader complained of uneasiness to his staff on Monday following which he was taken to the hospital. At present, the postmortem is being done and the local police is going to the hospital. The actress went to Goa for two days for a shoot.
Sonali Phogat's parents are on their way to Goa from Bhuthan village in Haryana. In 2016, her husband Sanjay Phogat was found dead in a farmhouse. Hisar BJP district president Captain Bhupendra said, 'Sonali ji was in Goa. I spoke to his assistant and he said that he died of a heart attack." Phogat had contested the last assembly election from Adampur assembly constituency against Kuldeep Bishnoi and was unsuccessful. Bishnoi, who was then in the Congress, recently joined the BJP.
Popular Tik Tok star Phogat was also seen in the 14th edition of Bigg Boss. He posted a video on his Instagram account shortly before his death. During this time he also changed his profile picture on Twitter account.Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar expressed grief and said that he was deeply saddened to learn about the passing away of Sonali Phogat.
